USICOMOS 15th ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC SYMPOSIUM

About US ICOMOS

The International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) was established in 1965 as a network of experts, now numbering 9,500 members throughout the world, who support the conservation of world heritage sites by providing advice to the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO.) The US National Committee of ICOMOS (US/ICOMOS) is a U.S. non-profit organization with approximately 500 professional members active in international conservation affairs.

US/ICOMOS is one of over 100 National Committees with a formal role in the nomination and protection of World Heritage Sites, providing technical advice to ICOMOS and UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee. Every year, US/ICOMOS hosts an international exchange program and an annual awards banquet, is the official conduit for US members to engage in international discourse, and convenes an International Scientific Symposium.
